MY KINDRED SPIRIT (IN MEMORY OF UNCLE DENVER)

UNCLE DENVER HOME ON LEAVE

Uncle Denver was my kindred spirit.  I wrote a poem a couple of year ago and it fits my uncle perfectly.  The title is MY MISSOURI HILLS.   He so loved his Missouri hills.
Although I didn't get to know him until later in life, I feel as though I have known him all my life.
Sadly, he passed over March 18th, 2005.  But he is at peace now in his Missouri Hills.

MY MISSOURI HILLS

I'm right where I wanna be.
The middle of the Ozark Mountains.
Beautiful rollin' hills as far as the eye can see.

My roots lie deep here.
Within the captivating beauty of My Missouri Hills.
Alone in the woods, surrounded by nature,
I have no fear.

The spirit of the woods and hills are forever with me.
No matter what turmoil the world throws my way,
My Missouri Hills have the power
to set my spirit free.

This was when Uncle Denver came for a visit to Missouri September 2000.  That was the last time I saw him.  But his memory is forever with me in my heart.
He took these Missouri buzzards back to Colorado with him.
I miss him so much.  But he is where he wanted to be now.  His ashes were spread over his mom and dad's grave.  He is now back in his Missouri hills where he wanted to be.
