WISE OWL BLANCHARD

Wise Owl was my g-g-grandfather.  Full-Blood Cherokee.  Stories have been handed down from one generation to the next about Wise Owl.
He was born in North Carolina....Cherokee Country.  He ended up in the Ozark Hills of Missouri.
He was shot in the back by Carpetbaggers shortly after the civil war. He was in Dent county, Rolla, Missouri on his way home to Carter, County Missouri when he was shot. No one in the family knows where his resting place is and that is sad. But Wise Owl will never be forgotten.

Wise Owl's Son, Henry Wise Blanchard and his family.  Henry Wise was my g-grandfather.  He married Delitha Payne.  She was supposedly French.  My grandmother is the tallest girl standing in the back.  Her name was Doshie Parlee.  Doshie being a Cherokee name and Parlee is French.
